Vent Haven ConVENTion 2005 a big success!

Vent Haven ConVENTion 2005 is just a memory now, but what a memory it was! With over 440 vents from around the world attending it was the biggest gathering to date of ventriloquists on the planet. Not only did we enjoy great shows, workshops, lectures, and panels, everyone got to visit the centerpiece of ventrilodom, the fabulous Vent Haven Museum. And the museum never looked better! Congrats to our curator Lisa Sweasy (with help from Annie Roberts) and to Bryan Sweasy, our webmaster, for making the place really shine!

Also congratulations to my wonderful staff who worked tirelessly to make the ConVENTion work for everyone. I tip my hat and say a big "thank you" to all of you for your efforts.

The ConVENTion was a huge success in every way. Not only was the attendance terrific, as Executive Director I was able to make a $6,000 donation to the museum from the profits of the ConVENTion. This donation will help with future projects in museum Building Number One, which we will reveal more about later here on the web site.

The VH raffle also did a record-breaking business. $2065 was raised to go toward Vent Haven's work on Building #1. A big "THANK YOU" is in order to all of you supporting the museum with your ticket purchases, and to all our vent dealers who graciously donated all the prizes to the raffle. The Amazing "Momma T" (Mary Ann Taylor) , our Dealer's Coordinator, once again stepped forward and donated the top raffle prize, a custom made MAT Puppet. Thanks, Mary Ann!

My thanks also to Annie Roberts, my Media Coordinator, for posting this on the web site and for all her updates and newsy bits she puts up each month. It truly takes a team to make this work and I'm a lucky guy...I've got the best staff in the entire world to work with. We'll see all of you next year in Ft. Mitchell, and keep checking this web site as we will be posting new things about our 30th Anniversary ConVENTion soon!
