Figure of the Month
April 2005: Maisie

Figure Name: Maisie

Date Created: Unknown Created by: Leonardo

Used by: Leonardo

Special Features: moving eyes, "bubble gum"

Trivia:
1. South American vent Leonardo's real name was Horatio M. Ortega.
2. Maisie has a small rubber balloon between her teeth that can be inflated from the rear to simulate a bubble gum bubble being blown.
3. Leonardo's figures (The museum has five of them) lack the exaggerated features--the wide eyes, large smile, and heavy makeup--of more familiar figuremakers. As a result, many visitors to the museum comment on the "life-like" nature of the figures.
4. Maisie was donated in 1985 by Leonardo's daughter-in-law.
